An analysis has been carried out on a sample of over 40 novels or short stories collections by Italian as well as non-Italian authors whose works have been circulating in Italy and have been relevant to the making of “climate fiction” as a label.
The study consisted in a reasoned reading of the texts through a template-like outline. This, in turn, was devised throughout the preparatory stages of field analysis, and is divided into elements that are useful in highlighting the main features of the narratives.
The outline makes it possible to compare synoptically the different narratives, thus facilitating the sociological analysis of literary discourse through the development of specific categories.
